Şanlıurfa Liberation Museum was built in 1903 as Mahmud Nedim Mansion, and then turned into a museum in 2009. The weapons used by the local people during the War of Independence are exhibited in the museum. Every year, many local and foreign tourists from outside the city visit the museum.

The most striking works in the museum are the waxed statues of 12 people who took part in the war. Urfa is an important historical building that contributed to the War of Independence. You should definitely visit the museum, which has great historical importance, when you come to Şanlıurfa.
