Mevlid-i Halilurrahman Cave

Mevlid-i Halilurrahman Cave is located in Eyyübiye district of Şanlıurfa. It is approximately 5 km away from the city center. You can reach it via İpekyol Boulevard/D400 with your private vehicle.

Mevlid-i Halilurrahman Cave is also the site of Hz. It is also known as the Cave of Abraham. In this cave, Hz. Abraham was born. The cave has a very interesting story. According to a rumor, Nimrod, the ruler of the period, had a dream. This dream was interpreted as a boy who would be born that year ending Nimrod's reign.

Based on this dream interpretation, Nimrod, who became the ruler, wanted all the boys born in that year to be killed. Thereupon, Ms. Azerin, Hz. Abraham's birth took place in this cave and Hz. Abraham lived in a cave until he was 7 years old. Also, our Prophet Muhammad is in this cave. It is also believed that Muhammad had a single strand of his beard.
